Lost & Found Pets
Spread the Word! The Humane Society of Lackawanna County is the shelter for lost animals from both Lackawanna and Wyoming Counties. The dog wardens, police departments and citizens finding animals within these two counties bring animals to this shelter when seeking assistance in finding pet owners. If your pet is missing, you should call the shelter at 586-3700 and your local police as soon as possible. The shelter keeps a listing of lost and found animals at all times and a staff member will take a thorough description of your pet and information on when and where they were lost.
Also, please visit the shelter and ask a staff member
to escort you through our stray section to help determine if your lost pet
is here.
Many pets may not be reunited with their families because the shelter's
description of a pet may differ from the owner's description, leading to
an inability to match an owner with a lost pet. Collars and tags are a must,
but a microchip implant is THE most efficient means of identifying pets
and reuniting them with owners quickly. Microchips are available from this
shelter or your veterinarian.
Our Featured Pet!

Tucker is a very sweet 5 yr old Lab mix. He is housebroken, good with kids, cats and dogs and neutered. He has a wonderful disposition. Meet him during our adoption hours noon-4:30.
